What is NASCENT?

Like the modern music industry, the Bay Area music scene is fractured and in endless pursuit of itself. From Martinez to the Mission, Berkeley to Bernal Heights; between bridge-bonded cities like Richmond and San Rafael, Fremont and San Mateo; insulated, fertile niches thrive across the Bay Area. Individually they are creative, productive, fascinating. But lacking cohesion, together they constitute a music scene that is perpetually nascent. And NASCENT is where they come together.
